I have a Dell Studio 540S and crucial.com tells me I have an 8GB ram limit with 4 slots. I'd like to install more than that -- maybe 12GB. Would it recognize more than 8 if I do install 12? Is it safe? Even after a BIOS update it still limits me to 8GB. Is there a way to increase my ram limit manually?
