Battery weirdness

Loved my old XPS 13 so I bought a "new" one off CL.

In the parking lot, it was running perfectly fine on the battery....opened it up, it was at the part of the Windows install where it asks a bunch of annoying questions....

All was well, so i bought it and came home.

Still on battery, I turned it on and it was still in the Windows install mode so I hard reset it (held the button down long enough for it to turn off).

Now, it wont boot at all on battery....nothing.

Plugged in works 100%.

BIOS diagnostics says battery is healthy and fully charged.

OS (linux) says batter is fully charge.

When plugged in, the front light flashes as if the battery is dead.

Little button on the side indicates a full battery (when plugged in) but dead when unplugged.

Tried factory reset BIOS, tried BIOS defaults.

Nothing has helped.

BIOS is current (1.9.0)

I have the Dell 45w p/s and I don't get a warning that it is the "wrong power" at boot, and matches the documented specs.

Suggestions?

Old post, I know, but just a heads up that that's not the original battery the laptop came with. It's been replaced with an "Ebay" battery. I can tell by the "SMP" manufacturer. The original battery would've been made by Sanyo. Because of this, the laptop will randomly lose "communication" with the battery and think there is none. You'll actually see sellers on Ebay mention this exact situation with their batteries. When you email and complain that it's defective, they just give you a refund because obviously their profit margin is so high it's not even worth taking back.
