I know this is a really old Laptops thread, but it's still an issue on my Aurora R8 desktop. Mine weren't using tons of resources, but there were tons of them running, so I did the same as Alex. I went into Services, stopped the service, then disabled it. Unfortunately there were still quite a few instances of it running, so I killed the process trees for each one. I think if I had restarted then when it booted up I wouldn't have any services to kill, but I was watching a stream. Probably worth a shot though. In any case afterwards I was able to cut the file from syswow64 and move it elsewhere so whatever was trying to start it wouldn't be able to. I probably wouldn't mess with it if it doesn't seem to be bugging out for you.

Because I was curious about it below (blaming Alienware Command Center) I opened ACC. I was expecting maybe it would crash, fail to open, etc. To my surprise it opened, was way more responsive than normal. The tabs were quick to swap between and everything seemed to still be working. So nothing conclusive on my end, I've read elsewhere that it's part of an audio driver, but wasn't able to find out whose driver it might be?
