Aurora R8, no video, #2

Hi

I have had my aurora for a few years now with no isues. The only recent change I can think of is that I used support assist for some updates including a BIOS update, but this was all completed a couple of days ago and no problems noticed until now.

Today i've just gone to use the PC, it turns on as normal with normal lights & it all sounds normal but i'm getting no video on the monitor. The monitor itself is definitely receiving power and I can interact with the menu on the monitor using the buttons on the back of the monitor with no issue so the screen itself is working, if I go to the 'input' section it says no DP input detected.

I haven't unplugged the DP cable in months but have tried unplugging both ends and plugging back in. I tried moving the DP plug into the main connection area (motherboard?? forgive my lack of knowledge on terminology!) and back to the graphics card again. Nothing is working...

I plan to try my a laptop using a HDMI cable to my monitor to check that works, and have ordered another DP cable from amazon that should come tomorrow to check if it's the cable at fault. Any other ideas on what I can try or what the problem is likely to be?

I've seen Dell offer remote software support (no fix no fee) as well as an option to send the PC in for hardware diagnositcs - any way of knowing if this is hardware or software before I go down those routes?

Thank you for any help!
