My AW3423DWF is crushing blacks and making dark scenes look horrible. This happens in both HDR True Black and HDR Peak 1000 modes, with and without the "fix" (using console mode, source tone mapping, 64% contrast). I am not talking about the bad EOTF tracking that Monitor's Unboxed has talked about.

I'm comparing this against my phone (OnePlus 7 Pro, which seemingly works with HDR) and another person in a discord with the same monitor and 4k bluray rip, which makes me think it's something with my monitor. Images below.

I can't remember everything I have tried to fix it with no success, but I can list these off:

• Factory reset of monitor
• Different computer (going from the 3080 Ti on my main PC to the integrated intel graphics on my Framework laptop)
• Changing contrast in OSD
• Turning Console Mode on/off
• Turning Source Tone Map on/off
• Changing picture profiles from creator to standard before enabling HDR
• Booting into windows with HDR already enabled
• Changing nvidia control panel settings (gamma, contrast, brightness, etc.)
• Full reinstall of nvidia drivers (DDU used in safe mode)
• Different video players (using windows' built in video player instead of VLC)
• Using different ports and cables on my GPu, including running the monitor over HDMI
• Going down to 120Hz to use 10 bit color
• Firmware is up-to-date on the monitor (M3B103 or whatever it's called)
• Updating windows and GPU drivers (Running fully updated Windows 11)
• Using the Windows HDR Calibration app
• Re-ripping the 4k BluRay
• Trying different 4k BluRays (1917, HTTYD1, and HTTDY3. Also tried Tenet, but the blacks in that movie are lifted, so they never reach close to 0)
• Can happen in SDR mode (playing back the regular bluray rips of the same movies, since playing HDR content in SDR makes everything look wrong) but Sevaeron and I compared SDR settings and media briefly and our monitors looked the same in SDR (Creator, DCIP3, Gamma 2.0) which makes me think it's an HDR only issue.
• Seems to happen in games as well, but I haven't tested this too much.

If you need any more info to try and help, feel free to ask and I will try to provide it. This has been driving me insane for a few weeks now, and I only discovered it well after the 30 day return period concluded. I'm hopeful that maybe when Dell fixes the HDR Peak 1000 EOTF tracking problem that this will also be fixed, but I'm not sure that the firmware is the problem.
