WIN 11 now or later?

Just throwing this out there, my so is a computer service tech and has been his entire life, and his advice to me is to wait about 6 months+ or so before going to WIN11, ie, "IF it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I down loaded it on October 5 so as to get the latest patches for the holes in Windows...so far, so good.
After making it look like Windows 10, it seems smooth, but one or two things now cause me to click on two things where I only had to click on one for Windows 10...progress?

It seems like W10 with a coat of paint and the ornaments moved round; but with a little work you can put the ornaments back where you want them...

I haven't had any problems...printer prints, wifi stays connected and no freezes or surprise shutdowns.

I think the DirectX 12 Ultimate does improve the visual appeal of games, but I usually only play Doom or Doom Eternal.

Many of the new features...Android apps for example, are not yet installed in Win 11, probably not until next year, so I certainly agree there is no pressing need to move to Win 11.

Basically, if you want the additional security features now go ahead, if not, wait about 6 months for the dust to settle.

I'm an early adopter. Ever since Win95.

Installed 11 on my troubled machine as soon as it was offered. Wasn't sure about AMD games performance, but apparently they've sorted that out.
Runs fine. I moved the Taskbar menu to the left, because that's where a Windows Start button should be. Some things are annoying. Some features (docking windows) are cool.
And Forza 5 runs great at 4K 90Hz(ish).

I am running it on two desktops (Dell Area51 R4, Aurora A9) and one laptop (XPS15 9570)

. No problems with installation and no problems with any programs which all run as before.

Don't know why we should be testers for Microsoft.. ha ... I am going to wait a few years before making the switch to Win 11.

Same here! I mainly game. If W11 can't enhance gaming on my PC then there is no reason to upgrade - heck I didn't wanna leave Windows 7!

If you just want to try it out, there are different ways to do so without long-term commitment.  I used Macrium Reflect 8 to create images of both Windows 10 and Windows 11.  I played with W11 for a couple of months and then reimaged taking me back to W10.   After a couple of months on Windows 10 I decided to give W11 another test run so I used an image to go back to W11.  I continued this process for about a year and finally decided to stay with W10 because of the loss of some key features I enjoyed.
