I am assuming that you actually have a desktop system, possibly the X51-R2 or R1 correct? That jumper should be on pins 2 and 3 not 1 and 2. I cannot tell from your picture if in fact 2 and 3 are the pins you have the jumper on now. Can you check and reply? This forum post may help.

You need 2 Green Jumpers.

Sometimes they go physically bad and must be replaced.

I usually choose RED for password and GREEN for CMOS clear.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes it's a R2. I didn't change the jumper position, it's the default position when I opened the chassis. I tried other methods from the forum by switching the pins to clear CMOS, but it still not working.

Your jumpers are upside down and the metal part may have fallen out.  Replace the jumpers with the ones I linked. When looking at the jumper from the top you should see what looks like a sliver of metal showing.

The bottom of the jumpers is closed so you do not see the pins or the sliver of metal when its on.

Note the battery connection and disconnect it.

Then remove ALL cables

Hold power button to discharge.
