Hi Everyone, Need a little help, I have a studio 1737,my boys had spilled a glass of milk into it. when i took it apart,cleaned it,i replaced the key board.everything went fine. one thing is i had taken out the cmos/bios battery,and now i have a phoenixBIOS set up utility pasword.i didnt set a bios password. is there a master code?are there jumpers to short circut and if so where? i tried removing the battery again...same thing? i was gonna reinstall the os so disc is in drive and wont eject or i d try to update the bios. tried to do it from usb .......no luck,have even tried some software from usb......no luck.i had a toshiba that i had to short jumpers on cause it mysteriously got a bios password...i later found out that it and many other toshibas have a bios problem that cause the bios utility to set a password.and so toshiba has come up with a fix for those.....don t know if this is a similar problem? any and all help is appreciated ..thank you..

This means the real-time clock chip is bad - that requires a clock chip replacement (assuming it's the chip and not the board that's bad). It's a solder-required repair - figure on paying about $150 to have the repair done properly (or replacing the mainboard, which is the other option).

thank you very much for the reply.i am the original owner,however out of warranty.surely dell doesnt want me to pay them for a code,to a laptop i had purchased from them, that as i read on,is calculated by your service tag,and only takes the time to punch my service tag in???WOW, thats a scam! it so happens that i have similar software,however when i enter my service tag and hit enter it tells me that there is no bios string,and it needs to end in something like -595B OR -D53B???? is this end code for a certain laptop???and if so would anyone know the code for a studio 1737?? thanks again

m15 R2, using intel GPU plugged in and Nvidia on battery

Have an issue that while running on battery, the Nvidia GPU gets used, the screen is bright and colorful and even in battery saver burns my battery within 15 - 20 mins just browsing. While plugged in everything gets duller and the nvidia GPU drops from 25% to 11%. In the Nvidia control panel I set it globally to use the Nvidia GPU and even tried designating apps but doesn't seem to work.

While on battery I tried manually setting it to use intel but still uses the Nvidia GPU. What gives? All drivers are up to date.
