Hi,

I am running a single node M1200 Avamar 7.2 installation that is a replication target for several M1200 and M600 Nodes. Because there is a capacity problem there is a new M2400 Node installed and I followed the Root-to-Root System Migration Guide (Avamar 7.0). I flushed the mcserver on the source, did a new checkpoint, validated it, and started replication.

First trouble - Guide says: turn off mcs on target node - but without mcs you cannot establish a connection from the source to the target node

So mcs stays turned on on source and target and replication is running - after several hours replication tells me everything is working fine.

I then want to restore the "source" to the "target" node with mcserver.sh --restore --restoretype=new-system.

MCS has to be turned off to do a mcserver.sh restore - so mcs turned off then retried the procedure

I enter the source-node fqdn and use the default port - and finally I receive the message that there is not a replicated flush from the source node and that the replication information cannot be found. MCS cannot be started after this and I have to restore an old labelnum to get the target node running again.

If i look into the Avamar Administration on the target - everything looks like on the source node but I fail to switch to the new-system.

Anyone has an idea how to solve this - or did avamar 7.2 to avamar 7.2 root-to-root replication to change hardware before?
