Quick Question: Adding to Storage Pools
EMC is coming onsite to install 30 more SATA disks into our Unified Celerra. If I recall, the last time storage was added, EMC did not directly add them into the pool. We had too.
Can someone point me to documentation / procedures on how this is accomplished?

system pools are automatic (once the raidgroups and LUNs were created and made visible to the Celerra)

The emc knowledge base primus solution emc138143 has all the details regarding adding space to storage pools.

make sure to understand that user-defined pools (unlike system pools) don't stripe by default
so for performance reasons you might want to add stripe stripe volumes to the pool and not single LUNs
