Hi all, I recently got the WD19TB dock and I found with disappointment that when I connect the power cord it switches on the laptop immediately. I do not understand why it does not wait that I push the ON button like all the electronics I know. This can be a problem since in case of power outages, storms etc. it could switch on the laptop without me even be there and even worse let it on its batteries if power goes off again with useless cicles. I did not find in the user guide or in the settings the possibility to have this feature changed. I would like to have the machine/monitor always plugged in without having to unplug the power when I go and even worse to switch off the pc when I reconnect. If you have the solution for this please let me know. Thanks in advance for the attention

@regressist go into the system's BIOS Setup by pressing F2 at startup and look for an option called 'Wake on Dell USB-C docks'. Disable that and you're good to go.

@regressist no it won't prevent the dock's Power button from being used to control the system. As the description text in the BIOS Setup interface indicates, it only prevents the system from waking up when a dock is physically plugged into a dock.

Power off a Cisco MDS 9148

I need to power off a Cisco MDS 9148 FC switch to move it to a new location and power it back up. Is there a specific procedure to do this?

nothing special, flip on/off switches on the back of each power supply. Do save the config to an external location of course (tftp/ftp/scp)
