Two-subnet Network Setup

Hi All-

I'm trying to get connections to a ps100 working from two different, unconnected subnets. I have an isolated network for the majority of the iSCSI traffic, and then the main network used for configuration. However, I'd like machines on the large network to occasionally be able to connect to the storage as well. The group IP is in the private network, which I think might be the problem. Windows machines on the large network time-out attempting to connect to the interface, but interestingly, esx hosts with connections on both networks appear to be able to use both without issue (I've also been experimenting with failover settings, as this isn't a production setup). My guess is that the Windows boxes are trying to redirect to the group IP, which isn't accessible to them - is there a way to make this work?

Thanks!

The ESX servers do have access to both. So you're saying the Windows boxes on the main network would also need a path to the iSCSI network? Why can't they use the interface of the Equallogic box facing the main network (which is configured in their subnet)?

Ah ok, got it. If I set the group IP on the main network, and tell the servers on the small network to prefer the small network portal, would that achieve basically the same thing? They all have a main interface on the big network.

Thanks for the clarification. For the moment, this is a test setup, so redundancy isn't terribly important. My reasoning for the setup as it is now is this - this array has dual purposes at the moment, VM storage and user storage to move things easily from VMs to physical workstations (my task is to demonstrate a useable virtual environment to our employees). The problem is that I can't add a second NIC to all the workstations in the lab, so I'm sort of faking it for the moment. I reconfigured the array to have the group ip in the main subnet, allowing all the physical workstations to connect to it. I left the secondary network connection on an isolated network with the ESX hosts, and those seem happy to multipath with the group ip and the secondary one. I definitely appreciate that this is inelegant, however, and it's certainly not permanent.

    Thanks again!
