Inspiron 3593 SSD interface

Hello, I have an Inspiron 3593 that came with a HDD and I want to add an SSD but I'm not sure which kind of M.2 to buy. I want to buy a m.2 SATA but I read on the Manual that the interface supports NVMe however I saw a video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNL2YoNbM14) and it said that it supports both interfaces. NVMe is very hard to get at a reasonable price in my country so I'd like to know what the possibilities are.

    This model is M.2 NVMe only - no SATA. And if you have both an M.2 NVMe and a 2.5" SATA drive, the M.2 must be the boot drive.

    How so ? When I look online (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2#Form_factors_and_keying) I find that the M key slot (which is the only type of slot that supports PCIe 3.0 x4) also supports m.2 SATA.
    So logically, if I get a B&M compatible m.2 SATA SSD, it should work on the slot on the Inspiron 3593 although at lower speed than an NVMe would.

    What the socket supports is only one issue.  It may well be a SATA drive will fit -- but the socket is wired to a PCIe/NVMe interface.  There is no SATA connection to the M.2 slot.  Install a SATA drive and it won't be detected.

    Most new systems have abandoned SATA M.2 support - this is one of them.  Feel free to try -- but -- be sure you won't be hit with a restocking charge when you have to return the non-functional drive, and re-order an NVMe drive, which is the only M.2 drive this system will support.
