Dell Latitude 5420 Audio Issues
Hey all,
Having issues with this particular model. We have just purchased nearly 200 of these to roll out and replace existing desktops to enable a more flexible way of working.
As all new machines we purchase we install a clean image of 21H1 on - install our apps via PDQ - Office 365, Mitel Micollab & Teams mainly.
What we are seeing with this particular model is the realtek audio driver is crashing randomly and breaking all audio on the machine (teams & micollab mainly) the only way to resolve is to restart. When this happens multiple times a day it can be extremely frustrating for a user.
We have tested numerous theories - testing 20H2 - testing out of the box image - testing with older audio drivers - testing with older .net - testing full updates via dell command & no updates via dell command - tested different BIOS configs and power saving settings - all with the same results.
We have raised a support case with Dell but this doesn't seem to be going anywhere - does anyone have any experience with this issue?
In event viewer it seems to be svchost that is crashing causing a 1002 error.
We have other Dell models - 7400/5410's setup exactly the same with zero issues so seems to be 5420 specific.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciate before we return a lot of laptops and go back to HP.
