Sudden RAM incompatibility
Hello,
I have a Latitude 7300 with 16gb of ram. Back in June I added an 8gb Crucial stick for a 24gb total.
For the first few months everything worked fine. However around a month ago the screen suddenly went black and the laptop stopped responding and could not reboot. After removing the extra stick it started working again.
I tried both ram sticks separately in each slot and they both work fine. But as soon as I put them both in, the PC doesn't boot and I get flashing led lights indicating incompatible ram.
I would really like to use dual channel memory.
How can I solve this ? Why did it work fine for almost four months?
I have an Inspiron, purchase new and under warranty. I purchased memory from Dell; what they recommended.
For all my older machines, I purchase memory from A-Tech which sells on eBay. I have bought both DDR2 and DDR3. As I mentioned, I purchase the sticks in pairs.

According to your Dell specification, 16GB X 8GB isn't the supported memory configuration for your computer.
Dell Latitude Memory Supported Configurations:
4GB - 1 x 4 GB
8 GB - 1 x 8 GB
8 GB - 2 x 4 GB
16 GB - 1 x16 GB
16 GB - 2 x 8 GB
32 GB - 2 x 16 GB

Since you purchase memory from Crucial, I suggest contacting them and ask for a refund. You could then use the money to purchase one 16GB memory to go along with the other 16GB.
