I think I am having voltage problems also.  Using CPUID, the +5 v readings are low, around 3.2-3.4. They are not even close to the +/- 5.0 where they should be. The 3.3 v readings are pretty close and the 12V are high, around 14.8.  Looks like a problem to me.

OK, so this explains alot of things. The x51 has random wifi drops, the lights (mine) will drop out and shut off, issues with computer random shut downs. I think we have our smoking gun here. The power supply board within the computer is faulty. When it drops voltages, then the wifi card will loose power and drop signal. When the voltage goes down the mio board for the lights will shut down. In extreme cases, the low power will cause the computer to shut down all the way.

I wonder if the boards sensors are just not being recognized accurately with software.  Hmonitor does not even show the 12V or 5V. Speedfan shows 12v at 10V or so. Probably going to do the tried and true method with a multimeter see what I get..If yours is the same and some others are, its most likely the CPUID and other programs not getting the voltages right..hope so anyway!  

Folks, it's not a smoking gun:

Wireless issues are being troubleshooted separately and Chris is on that, and it's not power related.  I work for dell/aw on X51 and the teams are working on other solutions for the group of people that see that issue as Chris mentions. We know it is not power drop related.

By the way, there is no MIO board in X51 it's controlled via the system BIOS.

As for the readings, tino is correct it is that the software is not getting that information from the power board.  It's being looked into...

As for shutdowns, there will always be cases of external PSUs that might be faulty or internal power boards.  For those issues, please contact support to have your problem fixed.

OK, then I will have to figure out what the deal is with my lights then.  AlienFX likes to randomly disable itself and turn on lights.

Same with my wifi, radom drops, even with 1 watt antenna hooked up I get random drops (goes from 25 networks, to 1-2, then back up to 25)

How many things are hooked to your USB plugs & what PSU you have 240 or 330W?

330 watt, every port is stuffed right now.

hmm, I will switch to useing the powered hub on my optx lcds and see if that helps any.

I have read in a chinese forum that having many things plugged on the x51 can drain you Voltages

It also did it when I had only a few things plugged in.

I first noticed it while playing SC2, I had my mouse, keyboard, and joystick plugged in.

After installing the new version of CC (from the x51 driver page) a picture of the m14x also came up in my CC screen
