CPU AGAIN....I desperately need help

When running my office programs, my CPU is peaking at 100% and locking my programs up. This is mainly happening when I am running Microsoft Word. When I check my task manager, all that is running is my spyware blocker and Word. I am not very good at internal computer stuff, so if anyone can help me with this, I would sooooooooo appreciate it.
I have a Dell 8200, 256 Ram, 1.8 GHZ. My system shows I have about 80% free disk space. What could be doing this? I have read almost all threads about this and a lot of them mention the SP2. Is this the problem? Should I uninstall or what?

Try the generic fix for Word problems. Make sure your system is set to show hidden files and folders then do a search for normal.dot. Right-click and delete every occurrence that is found. When you restart Word it will generate a new normal template and, with luck, will solve your problem.
