Have a stock Dimension E520 with strange boot problems.
Sometimes it will boot fine into vista and all works fine.
Other times powers on, dell bios screen loads then i just get a black screen and it sounds like the computer is still running as i can still hear the hard drive.
I've taken out and put back in the bios battery and was warned the battery has a low voltage, would this cause the black screen/no video problems i am getting?
Sometimes i have to power on the computer between x5 to x10 times before the computer boots into windows.

I am going to get a replacement bios battery today to see if this sorts out the problem.

Does anyone have any other advice regarding this problem?????
