Monitor Trouble
well i just registered here and im new, dont know if this is the right place to ask but i need help. Anyway, my parents own a dell desktop. I came downstairs and the screen is clicking, the sound you hear what you turn your monitor off. Well the monitor is either going on/off or on/standby. The light switches between green and orange, switching every half a second or so. How do i fix this?

had same problem checked and found that the video card was naff it was replaced. i think that they just wear out . mine lasted nearly 4 years, then started to meltCanadianGuitari

i had same problem had to install new video card. works fine now- if you haven't, just disconnect the monitor from the computer. if it stops doing it, it's not te video card. If it keeps doing it, then it could be.
Video cards are just an electronic device and like anything else they will fail over time. They should not generally melt however CanadianGuitari

ahh well then its not the driver. So then it must be the card itself then eh? because it happens as soon as i turn on the monitor itself, plugged into a computer or not.- if it's doing it as soon as you turn on the computer (aka) outside of windows, it's not the video card driver.
If it is the video driver, or doing it when you go into windows only - boot into safemode or VGA mode (F8 on startup) and just delete the installed video driver from the device manager.
