This is crazy
I order a 730 online on 9/29/08, and I am told it will be shipped 10-15-08. Well, I received an email saying it wasn't shipped and now it will be 10-22-08 before it is shipped. This is crazy, it doesn't take a month to build a computer. Dell needs to get on the ball and start shipping some computers.

building computers is very easy, but stock of parts would be a possible reason for that...- It is crazy waiting for a computer for a month that you paid over 7 grand for, this waiting is even worse because there is zero information on to what stage your computer is at. Dell.com gives me in production, the phone tracking gives me pre-production, tomorrow will be two weeks and still no idea what stage the computer is in.
i got my system 25 days after i ordered. quit your whining :smileymad:
i'm just kidding, dell takes really long to make their computers. maybe they're lazy or not motivated. even with all the time they wasted on building my xps730, it's been plagued with so many problems since i've gotten it (crash during video playback/overheating 9800 gx2 vid card/fans spinning loudly for 3 seconds, EVERY 30 seconds/many BSOD's/laggy crysis gameplay/bad audio hisses/high pitched audio glitch that nearly made me deaf) so yes, its well worth the wait.

The delays on the XPS 7xx seems to be normal. I first ordered the 720 last year, after it was delayed twice I cancelled the order and decided to wait for the 730. When I ordered my 730 it was delayed twice again, but after the second delay additional discounts because available to me to I cancelled the order then reordered with the new discounts and updated components. After the second order the machine shipped ahead of scheduled.
