I've been reading posts about heat on the 600m and I realize it's a general problem. My 600m is 1 month old and has been running hot since I got it. I've tried a couple of products to reduce heat and am now using targus tornado and a small external fan. With this the notebook cools to 144F.
I realized I'd never heard a fan run and not knowing it could impact the warranty installed fanGUI yesterday. It set the fan so it would come on at 50C and for the first time the fan has been runnning.

My question is this- the software says it can't get any response from fan 2. Are there 2 fans in this inspiron and if so should they both be accessible?
I don't know if there is a problem with my 600m or whether the software is not designed to work with the 600m second fan.
