CPU Performance is not as expected
Hi,
I have laptop Dell Inspiron N4010 and it has Intel Core i5 processor with speed 2.53 GHz on it.
After boot, it works normally and nothing wrong happened.
It works normally if i only use my laptop to browsing, hear music or watch movies.
If i use application like Adobe Premiere or After Effects or games, it start to be very lag.
If i see to the CPU meter, it will show me 100% usage.
To check what is happening to my laptop, i install Intel Processor Identification Utility.
The picture below show my procesor condition after boot:

This problem is not the first trime happened on my laptop, before this I always able to solve this problem by cleaning the air vents.
But now, even though I already cleaned the air vents, this problem still happened.
I hope someone here can help me to solve this problem.
Any comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Dear Mr. Terry,
It's happening with AC Adapter connected. I always use AC Adapter most of the time.
I also already set my power management settings into high performance, but this problem still happened.
Below is the screenshot of my power management settings:

I get this information from my BIOS:
From Main Tab:
CPU Type: Intel Core i5 CPU M460 @2.53Ghz
CPU Speed: 2530MHz
CPU L1 Cache Size: 128KB
CPU L2 Cache Size: 512KB
CPU L3 Cache 3072 KB
CPU ID: 200655
Turbo Mode: [Enabled]
But i can't find anything about Speedstep in my BIOS.

Do you notice this happening with the AC adapter connected or only using battery? If you haven't done so already I suggest checking the power management settings to the notebook just to make sure that the processor isn't being throttled back.
With the AC adapter connected I suggest going into control panel, power options, select a power plan and choose high performance, click the link for change plan settings, change advanced power settings, processor power management, and for minimum processor state, and maximum processor state make sure that for plugged it is set to 100 percent. Under system cooling policy if listed choose active for plugged in. Test and see if it makes a difference, then change maximum processor state to 99 percent and see if the problem continues. Please report back here with the results.
You may also want to check the bios and see if there is an option for speed step, if there is please report back here with the settings. Please let me know what you find out.
