Recently, my Alienware 14 gave me the option to enable "Desktop Mode." I had recently purchased a new battery for the laptop so the suggestion of extending the battery life seemed nice. The issue is now I can not disable it under any circumstance. I have refreshed windows 10, reinstalled windows 10, used the recovery software provided and reverted back to win 7, cleared the BIOS, completely reset the BIOS by removing the coin cell battery, and reflashed the BIOS. I have also run a diagnostic from the bios boot menu and nothing shows as faulty. This is clearly a malfunction of the software dell provided but I have no method or recourse to remove its functionality. I would really appreciate help with this, this function is damaging my battery and hardware due to its rapid cycling between battery and AC.
