USB 3.0 Issue
I have a Dell XPS 17 (L702X) that is having usb 3.0 issues. Not sure if this is normal or not, but if I have anything plugged into the back usb ports on the laptop and I try to restart my computer I don't even get the dell start up screen. If I unplug whatever is in the back 3.0 slots then it continues to boot up. There are also times when I have the computer already booted up and then try to plug something into the usb 3.0 ports and it will not recognize them. Then if I reboot the unit and plug something in it will then recognize the device.
Should I contact tech support and let them know of this issue or is it a common thing with this machine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the 3.0 usbs and it has not changed a thing.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I also have an XPS 17 L702X that had these exact same issues. After installing, uninstalling and reinstalled multiple versions of NEC/Renesas drivers for the usb 3.0 with no results, I finally deceided to contact Dell Support. They confirmed the issue and sent a tech to my home and replaced my mother board and daughter board. Works excellent now, with no usb 3 issues at all. Call Dell Support ASAP!!

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure that the USB boot option is not in the list of boot devices.
F2 at powerup.
