XPS 9360 performance issues on battery

Since the day of purchase I have noticed some issues with my wifi and internet speeds on battery.

There is a clear difference between the download speeds when connected to the charger. The moment I unplug the adapter the download speeds decrease dramatically.

Only two power plans are available to me Dell and Balanced. Then I tried creating my own power plans, but the advanced power plans setting does not show a button to increase wifi performance.

I also downloaded Dell Command Battery Planner... still the download speeds remain the same.

I checked online for solutions and could not find any.

Would you be able to help me?

Thank you in advance,

Marlon

You could try to turn off power saving settings for your wifi card. This allows the card to unrestrictively use power when on battery to achieve exceptional internet speeds. To do this, go into device manager and click on network adapter (one currently in use) and if theres power management tab or something like that click on it and turn of power saving.

    Hope I helped.

    Hi Marlon,

    Welcome to our community.

We’ll surely try and assist. We understand the importance of having a fully functional system. Please access device manager, expand the option below network adaptors. Right click on the wireless card and select properties, click on advanced tab from the next page and select transmit power, move the same to highest from lowest. Kindly check if there is any difference.

We request you run through the hardware diagnostics to isolate issues between hardware and software. You can refer to this link which has a video with the steps to complete the same.

Tried both of your methods. Can't find transmit power on the advanced tab or power management .

    What do I do?
