If I were you, first of all, look in the manual on how to dispose of any product, and secondly use the services of some company for waste removal, so they picked up and recycled my unwanted device.   I think it is better if they take my trash and recycle it than it will just lie in the landfill. So I recently threw away my old HP laptop and replaced it with a Dell Precision 3470.
