I have tried to find an answer in the forum and was also reading the FAQ; USB Type-C monitors FAQ I'm interested in the new P2720DC and P2720D. If I understand the difference between the two types correctly, the DC version is a USB Type-C capable monitor.
I would set it up like the following, with daisy chaining:
Laptop (HP EliteBook X360 1030 G2) -- USB C --> P2720DC -- DP --> P2720D
For the last (second screen) the D model should be fine, since I don't consider expanding any further. At the first screen (DC model) mouse and keyboard shall be hooked too. And the laptop shall be charged with the monitors power delivery (PD) functionality. Which means, only one USB Type-C cable is plugged on the laptop.
The question which I could not answer for myself is, if my proposed monitor setup would allow, driving both monitor with 2560x1440 resolution? Since this depends on the High Bit Rate (HBR2 vs. HBR3) standard if only USB Type-C is used and not Thunderbolt 3. I fear it will not be possible with my laptop. These are some data regarding the laptop:
HP EliteBook X360 1030 G2
Intel Core i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz
Intel HD Graphics 620
I guess my proposed setup will not work and I would have to use a Thunderbolt 3 dock and drive the two screens via DP cables. This means, I need one additional hardware unit (docking station).

All, the P2720DC cannot deliver power to laptops that require 90w or higher. See page 29.

About the PD of the Laptop. I thought the monitor is capable of delivering the power to the Laptop, isn't it? So I plug each of the monitors to the power supply and use the P2720DC USB Type-C PD to charge the notebook and simultaneously transfer the video signal.
On the product page, it is shown, that a laptop is only connected via one cable to the screens (link below). In total I thought the following set up:
Screen 1 in the daisy chain P2720DC: Connected to power (connector 1 in the connector schematic - link below) and USB Type-C from the Elitebook to the monitor, to "just" broadcast the video signal for both screen and data to a mouse and keyboard via the USB Type-C cable.
Screen 2 in the daisy chain P2720D: Connected to power (Connector 1 in the connector schematic) and via display port connect it to the first screen.
About the daisy chain uncertainty via USB Type-C. If this is not the case, then the pictures in the above link are misleading, since the USB Type-C connector is the only one, capable of providing power to a laptop and the pictures clearly show, just one cable connected to the laptop and two screens connected.
I found a dealer nearby, I will contact him and ask, if I can bring my laptop and try my proposed solution. I will post my experience. Might take 1-2 weeks.
