Integration - Networker and Netapp NDMP

Hi,

could someone help me with the steps necessary to integrate the Networker 7.6 with Netapp Ontap 7.3.2?

- I need to install any agent / plugin on the NW server?
- You must configure the switches zonning for NW Server and Netapp?

    NetWorker/NetApp NDMP solution/integration can be designed in two ways...!!!
    1) Local NDMP backup ==> where you backup to locally attached devices on NAS side
    2) LAN based NDMP backup ==> where NDMP data from NAS is stream over LAN to NetWorker storage nodes(Windows or Unix host)
    In both cases there is no Networker Software Agent required on the NAS side.
    The backup happens via NDMP protocol which all NAS has.
    As far as SAN goes, it is recommended that all backup resources ie: NetWorker Server, NAS host and library/tape drives be SAN zoned together for sharing purposes of say tape drives.
    If there is no sharing of resources, then zoning can be independent for whatever purposes.
    Once systems are TCP/IP reachable, you are set to go with NetWorker NDMP implementation through Client resource creation, assignment of Client to Group, Group assignment to pools and ultimately devices assignment to Pools

    Mike, do you have some info if and when NW would support integration with NetApp's SnapVault?

    You might want to look at thes video and white papers, all of which are available from powerlink.emc.com.  They should help show how you can configure NetWorker to backup your NAS
