I have an Inspiron 8200, and recently my dsl stopped working.  For the first 1-2 days afteward I noticed nothing unusual with the computer, but then the next 4-5 days after that the Network Cord light stayed on (orange) even if there was no cord plugged into the port.  It would light up as soon as the computer would start and only go off when it was shutdown...Then just today I got a new dsl modem and the computer doesn't detect the network cord is plugged in...the light still always stays orange though and the LAN connection has a red X on it saying the Cable is unplugged when it isn't...

I've ruled out that it is the fault of either the cords or the modem, because they both work on another laptop of mine...Since the dsl went out the first time I haven't changed anything on my computer that would seemingly alter the connection.  I reinstalled the drive for the network card...which is a 3com 3C920 Integrated Ethernet Controller (3C905C-TX Compatible).

If anyone could help me i'd really appreciate it, because dsl is so much better than dial up :( Thanks.
