Things to be done after processor changed

Hi There,

I got DELL PowerEdge R720 that having a CPU1 Error. Since its already over warranty, I've replaced the proc with a new one.

Upon completion, I still encountered the CPU1 Error at the front panel and my server keep rebooting and can't get past BIOS setup page nor Lifecycle controller page.

If anyone can assist, your assistance and advise are highly appreciated.

    Hello

It would be helpful to know what the exact error is. If it is a CPU1 IERR then it is an error detected by the CPU, not an error with the CPU. A CPU IERR can be caused by a faulty CPU, but it is usually an indicator of another issue.

There are a lot of potential causes. If there was something that happened prior to the error message then that could help narrow down where to troubleshoot. I would start by re-seating the memory. If there is no change then you can follow the no-POST troubleshooting article.
