Probably not connected LVD2 cable from PE2300 backplane to SCSI controller?
HI, Im not sure, if this sounds funny or not, but tonight I tried to put in my old PE2300 machine new 2x 36 GB SCSI drives that I bought on eBay including their original carriers. When I turned on the server, the front panel light indicated a presence of two disks. Bios SCSI setup revealed no SCSI drives. I noticed that according to the scheme printed on the inner side of the chassis there is a LVD2 SCSI connector on PE2300 front backplane and also one on the motherboard. There is no cable in between that would connect them. Please, tell me, that this is the problem! :-)))
As much as it may sound ridiculous, I ask because I have no option to order a spare part from US Dell - US Dell refuses to ship to Europe and local European Dell on the contrary refuses to provide its customers with any spare parts that are over 5 years old. Pretty shameful Id say. Sooo.. if I need this cable, do you think I can buy any on the standard market? What would be the specs? Thanks a lot.
