I bought a 5820 which came with a 1tb NVME which has Windows installed. It works great. The other three bays are set up for hard drives.

I tried replacing the 1tb windows booting drive in this Dell with my working 4tb NVME (Windows booting) which I use on my HP Z840 (this NVME sits on a PCIE card). No luck. But a Fedora USB can see the nvme is there. I tried turning off VMB (is it VMB?), tried turning secure boot on and then off. If I put the 1tb original back it works fine.

Any thoughts on why the drive from HP won't work?

Second question, my Dell 5820 says it has two mini SAS ports, one of which goes to the nvme drive bay. Can I connect the second mini SAS port to a SAS hard drive?
