I recently had to reboot by computer to the factory settings and I am unable to locate my disk for ms office 2007 that came with the laptop. The program was installed on the computer by dell and I am unsure if they might have it on file. If they do not is there anyway to retrieve this code from ms or will I have to buy the program again?
Unfortunately, Dell will not have the key code on file for your copy of Office. If you cannot find the original CD with the product code, you will have to purchase another copy. I know that's not the answer you wanted. :smileysad:
Edited to add: If your factory restore also reinstalled Office, you may be able to find the Product Code using the free Belarc Advisor. Good Luck.
Dell sends a free trial version of Office 2007 with new computers that doesn't come with a disk and expires after a short time. You cannot reinstall the trial version. Check your invoice. You must pay extra for Office.
Thank you for your input. After one last look for the disk, I was successful in finding it and the rest of my restore disks. they are now in a secure location where they hopefully will never run away from again. Once the access code was entered it is once again working fine.
