I am having trouble burning DVD's and CD's on my Dimension XPS and having the burned discs play in DVD and CD players.  Is there some type of setting I need to change within my dell system?  I have tried an external DVD burner on two different systems and it wont burn correctly on my system and works fine on another.    Also when i burn a cd, the disc wont play in certain players.  I know the media I am using is fine.  I believe there is an issue with the system, not the burners.   I actually swapped my new internal burner into another dell system and it works fine.  what do I need to look at in my system?

Dell Dimension XPS
2.8 ghz
1.0 gig ram
Sony DRU-510 DVD Burner

I have the DVD burner set to CSEL.  Should I use slave or master?  Does it matter?
