Dell's terrible tech support.
I Just want everyone out there to see just how bad Dell's tech support is.
Here is a letter that I wrote with my DVD problem that Dell will not respond to. I promise I will go to every forum site out there and let people know how Dell ripped me.
To any CEO or any big time manager that will actually care
about their customers.
My name is William Fiorello. I bought a Inspiron lap top around 14 months ago.
I had at one time thought that there was no substitute for Dell. I soon learned
that the technical help was not so great. Your technical service dept.
has record of me calling about my DVD drive not working correctly at least a
couple of times during the warranty period. Sometimes it would burn and
sometimes it would not. Your technicians had come to a point where they said
the matter was resolved because they got it to burn a data DVD. However I
would try it again after the call and of course it would not burn. And it had
totally stopped burning my family movies. I was told by them that it was a
software problem.
I finally grew tired and frustrated and stopped using it for a while.
After a few to many months when I was out of warranty, I tried to talk to your
techs again and they did not want anything to do with me. I had to plead with a
manager to just check the drive again and he finally agreed. He basically did
the same thing and got it to burn a data DVD but not a movie DVD. He also
sad it was a software issue and closed the call as resolved.
Well it still would not burn movies and also started having glitches on play
back of regular DVD movies and not play some at all.
At this point I took it upon myself to buy an external DVD burner and see if it
would work. It worked perfect with all the same programs I have been
using.
After that I decided to bight the bullet and buy another internal burner from
you guys to see if it would work right. Of course it did..... what does
that tell you? I was right all along that the problem was a bad burner
that I complained about before the warranty was out and your techs could not
figure it out.
I feel that you should have had good enough techs to figure this out and you
should have replaced my DVD drive under warranty.
I feel I was ripped of by having to spend my hard earned money on a drive that
you all should have replaced.
I once thought that DELL was the best... Now It will be the last computer I
will buy from you guys.
I really don't expect much action from this letter due to my past experience
with you guys. But If someone does care It would be nice to get a personal
response.
'
Thank you from a very disappointed customer.
Bill Fiorello
