It has been  a great help from all for getting valuable information all time. Thanks to all once again.

Again this time I have some questions. This is regarding R2's and clones related to Disaster recovery. We have a two DMX4's which setup to replicate using SRDF/A. And also have clones for the same on each frame. We use the remote clones for testing purpose. At the DR site there are two states. Test state when servers are accessing clones and can read/write data AND recovery state where they access R2's, but all the DB's/App's are offline since R2's are Readonly. So we move between states during tests. Also the server we have are windows clustered/non-clustered boxes.

I am hoping some might have a similar kind of setup. If not have some idea's now how to proceed. We move between these state's using symcli masking/unmasking devices. When we did a test for the first time we have to reboot all boxes inorder to see the change in devices. My question would be is there a better way to do this on windows when we remove clones and present R2's to rescan drives with out rebooting and vice versa? We did a split on R1/R2 to bring drives into R/W state on the DR frame.  also for non-clustered boxes do we need to unmount/remount the drives ? also is there a way powerpath could see the changes with out drive rescan ? because when we removed clones and presented R2's, powerpath saw the clones in a failed state which is valid, but did not see the R2 devices untill a rescan or reboot.

Any suggestion or inputs or ideas would be of great help.
