Yes, ECS can be compared to Centera GE without ARM (event based retention support) . If applications do not use these calls, then ECS is "another Centera" in the view of application.
CE+ support (no priviledged delete, infinite as default retention etc.) is announced to be supported in the ECS release expected for Q4'2015.
