I have been advised to post my issue on this forum by Red dwarf from the malware discussion forum.

I have downloaded HJT and have ran it, but unfortunately it will not save the logfile to Notepad. I get the error Cannot Find C:\Program Files\hijackthis.logfile. Can you please advise on this?

Meanwhile, I'll still detail my issue below if that's ok.

·         I ran the Macafee prgram on my daughter's Dell laptop and it found 5 unwanted programs:

Artemis!D01726B277F1

Artemis!0FCDBF1AA490

Artemis!AE8CF78F3839

Artemis!C68C85EC4046

Artemis!002B94B4C812

Unfortunately, Macaffe will not let me quarantine them and says the laptop remains at risk.

The first 2 unwanted programs were detected in the following path

C:/Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\0PS72R2M\upgrade(1).cab

The second 2 unwanted programs were detected in the following path:

C:/Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\62AXOPQ5\upgrade(1).cab

The last unwanted program was detected in the following path:

C:/Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\FZG8CKJ5\upgrade(1).cab.
