You may refer to the below mentioned resolution:
You can enable Unicode support on a Data Mover with existing file systems, using either CLI or the Celerra Manager.
Caveat: If the file systems consist of pure ASCII file and directory names, this will be seamless. But if file systems have files and directories with characters higher than 128, this can cause problems. In this case the file system will need to be converted using appropriate code page. The best practice is to have Unicode enabled prior to file system creation.
If non-ASCII characters are used in filenames or directory names, Contact the EMC Customer Support Center or your EMC Customer Service representative for technical assistance. Please quote the solution ID.
To enable Unicode support on a Data Mover use the following three CLI commands:
Example output of the commands, followed by the server_cifs command to ensure Unicode is now enabled.
[nasadmin@celerra nasadmin]$ /nas/sbin/uc_config -setup
Creating the common Unicode translation subdirectory.
done
[nasadmin@celerra nasadmin]$ /nas/sbin/uc_config -update
done
[nasadmin@celerra nasadmin]$ /nas/sbin/uc_config -on -mover server_2
server_2 : done
[nasadmin@celerra nasadmin]$ server_cifs server_2
server_2 :
256 Cifs threads started
Security mode = NT
Max protocol = NT1
I18N mode = UNICODE <-- This line will say ASCII if Unicode has not been enabled.
Home Directory Shares DISABLED
Usermapper auto broadcast enabled
Enabled interfaces: (All interfaces are enabled)
Disabled interfaces: (No interface disabled)
Important! Once you enable Unicode on a Data Mover, you cannot disable it or turn it off.
