My Vostro 3420 is ridiculously hot ... calling this a 'laptop' is a sick joke .. no one could stand having this horrible computer sit on your lap.  The fan doesn't really seem to come on, and the bottom of this thing might cook an egg.  Dell sent someone to my hosue and they replaced the fan, to no effect at all.  So, is this Vostro just a portable desktop computer, and never intended to be a laptop at all???  this kind of heat is bound to lead to a shortened lifetime, making my purchase a total waste.
