Data transfer from one desktop to another

I have a ten-year-old desktop computer running Windows 95. It does not have any USB ports. It has two parallel ports that I once used to connect a printer and a scanner into.

I have some large data files to transfer and have moved some documents by using a few 3.5inch floppy disks. However, this will be a very slow process.

I have a second desktop computer with a vacant parallel port. Please could Forum members advise me whether it will be possible for me to transfer files from the Windows 95 computer to my second computer (Dell Dimension 8300) that operates with Windows XP SP2?

If this can be done via a parallel cable – what software do I need to make the transfer possible?

Thank you

David

    I found this.

Check the "Fast Lynx" for possible adapter cables (parallel to USB)

If you have a NIC in both PCs you can purchase a CrossOver Cable and transfer your files that way....
