Experiencing errors with Dell Command Update can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Restart the Dell Command Update Service: Sometimes, restarting the service can resolve the issue. Here's how:

   • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
   • Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
   • Locate the "Dell Command Update" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart."

2. Update the Dell Command Update Application: Go to the Dell Support website and ensure you have the latest version of the Dell Command Update application installed.

Six months later and the problem still exists.  searched the web for fixes - nada that actually work.Cannot start the service, error 1053.  Only way I can get the updater to work is delete the program, delete the /programdata/dell/updateservice folder and then install the dell command update.  It usually works once to check for updates, but will turn off the service when the program is exited.  I tried running the install as admin, I tried changing the services logon to my local admin account.  I also uninstalled all the other Dell preloaded apps, but that didn't help.
