I have a dimension 8100 system that I bought with WindowsME as the operating system. I bought a full-install of XP when it came out and did a total reformat and clean install. I didn't reinstall the dell software.

Now, I have bought a new Dimension 8400 and am giving the 8100 to a family member. I want to keep the XP and put it on my wife's Dell that she bought shortly after I bought my 8100.

So I want to reinstall the original Dell ME software to the machine I am giving away. What do I need to do to reinstall it? If I reformat the drive, how can I reformat it to a format ME is compatible with? Does anyone know if I'll even be able to put the VP on my wife's computer - I mean, will Microsoft not permit me to install XP on a second system? I know the licensing of XP is screwy - I don't want to wipe out my wife's HD only to find out that Microsoft won't let me do it!
