Hi all...

last week I bought an inspiron 6400 with Vista Home basic installed. As you know, it came with a single partition of size 100GB (another 10Gig for recovery too). But I wantd to re-partition the disk to 40Gig + 30Gig + 30Gig. I tired using the Vista Partition Manager found in the device management. When I tried using the shrink option, it asked me to create an Unallocated space of 45 Gig, and I succeeded in that. But when I tried creating a new volume in the 45Gig Unallocated space, it said, no enough space to do this....  whats wrong??

 

If anybody knows any other method, please help me out. I would also like to know whether I can go for a clean installation, so that it may ask for partitioning the disks ??? or I need to partition the disk using XP boot CD , then start vista installation ?? anyway m stucked!!!
