Internet Explorer
Hi my name is Mrs Dee. I am so happy to find this board.
I am having with IE. My previous ISP was earthlink. Dell offer AOL for 6 mos for free. I uninstall earthlink. Install AOl 9.0. Whenever I click on E on the screen. I get page can't be displayed. I don't understand why I am getting this error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also download SP2. I don't know if that is the problem or not.
- Not sure if this suggestion is relevant to your problem, but I too have an AOL account among many other e-mail services I subscibe to.What I do for all my services is us Internet Explorer as my browser instead of installing the AOL browser on my computer. I mainly use AOL as an alternate place to send and receive e-mails if my e-mail system is down for maintenance or something.When I want to use AOL, I just use Internet Explorer and go to www.aol.com. Then I log-in with my screen name and password and in my case, I go to the "mailbox" and send/receive e-mail. It depends on what you want from AOL. Most features are still available by accesssing AOL in this manner, but it really depends on what you want from AOL. In my case, all I want is to use the mail and maybe once in a while check stocks or read entertainment news.With the problems you are having, and if you thing it might work for you, I personally would uninstall the AOL 9.0 sofware and just use Internet Explorer, accessing AOL just lie any other web page.by going to the above URL. Then you cvan log-in and get to most functions that AOL provides.I only know of one relative that uses AOL the way you are trying to use it, and they too run in to problems. I suggest uninstalling AOL 9.0 and just log in by going to www.aol.com. It works for me...

If your using AOL, you might first try contacting them, and having them walk you through rebuilding your AOL 'adapter' (the network connection used to connect to the internet). If your going to be buying their service, it's a good idea to get familar with their customer service. Mine is Bellsouth, and I call them quite frequently ... :)
I'm not familar with AOL, but I think it's an option in AOL's browser menu. See this as an example: http://experts.about.com/q/1026/3472300.htm
Others who were having simular problems with AOL, fixed it by rebuilding the AOL 'adapter'.
GOOGLE is a good resource. Try a search on [AOL "page cannot"], without the brackets and see what you get.
