Memory Error and Explorer not working

Hi,
 
Downloaded SP2 and then started getting 'memory address errors' together with ok (to terminate this program) and cancel (to debug) buttons.  I could not run Explorer or even my internet programs.
 
For this reason I couldn't access System Restore and ultimately had to run in safe mode and then uninstall SP2.
 
I've done this twice now and can't find any help - can anyone out there advise me ?

    Hi    Go to Task Manager and running proccesses and see if abrole.exe is running. Thats my problem.

    First off you should include your system info ( eg Model, security programs installed, etc.) as wella s your general computer ability.

    You should start with an online scan http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

    Are you doing install from a cd, download, or windowsupdate ?

    Have you updated your video(graphics) driver ?

    Do you do the install with all USB peripherals dis-connected ?

    Suggest you do a chkdsk and a defrag before install.
