Monitor Resolution

I have a new Dell CRT 19" monitor. The resolution is at 1024x768 and the dpi is 96.  My problem is that the print is too small when viewing web pages; in fact, the information on the web site takes up only about half of the viewing area.  Changing the text size under the Views option has no affect. The text gets larger but is degraded if I lower the resolution.

I know how to change the font for desktop icons windows text; it is the internet that is giving me problems.

Thank you,
Betty Irene

    Betty Irene:

Some web pages only display a certain maximum size. I run my 19" LCD at 1280 x 1024 and most web pages only use 1/2 to 2/3 of the width of the page.

You could use large fonts for your system fonts but this would not change the size of web pages.

Try a lower resolution to see if that helps. You can also change the Text size on most web pages by using View>Text size. Make sure you are using Clear type in Display properties, Appearance, Effects. You can also select 125 dpi.
