If I have booted into Last Known Good Configuration and configured msconfig.exe to run in diagnostic mode so as to load minimal drivers, does that setting apply to the normal boot?  I am still getting a black screen after the BIOS loads, so I am not sure.  I think it does, and that I have a problem with one of the first group of system files to load.
