Problem with Zone Alarm
I downloaded the free version of Zone Alarm, version 5.5.094.000, onto my Dell Dimension 4500 with XP and SP2, installed it OK, restarted like Zone Alarm suggested, went through the tutorial, and everything seemed fine until I tried to connect to the Internet. The signin process completed as it normally does and bingo bango the screen went blank and the PC rebooted. During startup a message appears that says: "The system has recovered from a serious error" and asks if I want to send the report to Microsoft. I say no because the system will restart anyway. Two files are put into the Local Settings/Temp/WER11a6.dir00/ folder with names of Mini051605-03.dmp and sysdata.xml. I try to save them but they are deleted before I can. I tried signing in again - same result. Uninstalled Zone Alarm, restarted, and now I can connect to the Internet without a problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've heard good things about Zone Alarm but maybe I should consider another firewall solution. George
