Problems with E6400
actually i have two problems.
I bought recently an E6400 64 bit Vista.
When i listen music, watch movie or play games, i can always hear annoying clicking noise every 10 seconds.
All drivers have been installed.
now i assume it might be driver problem. So i tried to install a 32bit xp on it. But it could not work. (blue-screen said i should chkdsk -f, i did the check and the disk is fine.)
Is there any BIOs-Lock or something else?
help will be appreciated
- Pinpoint if it's coming from the speakers or from the hard drive by muting the speakers. If it is the speakers, try changing the settings in Sounds. See if you can find the sound and disable it. Look at 'Navigation' sound and similar sounds. If it's hardware that is making the clicking noise when the speakers are muted, contact Dell Support. This could be a sign of a failing hard drive. Drivers don't make noises, AFAIK. And you should not install 32 bit over 64 bit. Vista and XP have different file systems.

The clicking noise only comes with music, film and game.
i have muted the speakers, but the noise is still there.
(it is not so dramatical, but is annoying.)

make sure you have matrix storage manager - Intel Driver A03 & Intel Application A02 installed, this should get rid of the problem. If already on, re-install! It fixed my issues!
